Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Cottonwood Tenth LDS Ward Chapel for Kay Matthews Shepherd, 37, wbo died in a Salt Lake hospital, January 16, 1971, of injuries suffered In an automobile accident. Mr. Shepherd was born in Liberty, on October 24, 1933, the son of George Edward and Edna Matthews Shepherd. He was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1952, however he did not graduate. He married ErIene Davis on February 29, 1960. He was Salt Lake City manager of Kwikee Food Market and a member of the LDS Church. He served In the U. S. Navy, and was a member, of the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Posse, honorary Salt Lake County Deputy. He is survived by his widow, son and daughters. Chad, KayLene and Kristi of Salt Lake City: his mother of Salt Lake, and brothers, Farrell Shepherd of Ogden, William Shepherd of Martinez, California, and Todd Shepherd of Grainger, Utah. Military rites were conducted. by Post 60, Amercan Legion. lnterment was in Elysian Burial Gardens.
