Robert Morris Day -- Class of 1952

Robert Morris Day, 40, was killed on July 7, 1974, in a two-car accident near Montpelier, Idaho.  Bob was born December 30, 1933, in Montpelier, son of the late Morrris Day and Wanda Mourtsen Lauridsen.  Bob married Arletta Blackham in 1958 in Germany.  He was a 1965 graduate of Idaho State University with a degree in business administration and was employed as an assistant investment officer at the head office of Crocker National Bank, Los Angeles, California.

Bob and Arletta had two daughters, Marian Sue Day born in 1959  and Laurie Diane Day born in 1961.  Laurie passed away on July 8, 1974, in Pocatello of injuries sustained in the automobile accident.  She had completed the seventh grade and was enrolled in the Richard M. Nixon School in Yorba Linda, California. 

In addition to his wife Arletta and daughter Marian Sue of Coron, California, Bob was survived by his mother Wanda Lauridsen of Montpelier, Idaho; brother Richard A. Day of Patterson, California, and sister Myrna Sue Elliott of South Jordan, Utah. He was also preceded in death by his half-sisters, Maureen Hoff, Maxine Jones and Phyllis Tuck.

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church of Yorba Linda and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Bob served in Germany from 1958-1960 and was honorably discharged in 1960.

Bob and his daughter Laurie were buried in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
