Roger Nard Jacobson “Jake” passed away in his home on December 11,2024, surrounded by his loving girls after a long battle with cancer. Roger was born in Ogden, UT on November 1, 1948 to Nard and Lois Jacobson. He was the oldest of four children. The family moved to Montpelier, ID in 1958 where he grew up. He spent the majority of his time at his family’s cabin at Bear Lake.
Roger was drafted in the Army and was sent to Vietnam where he served from 1968 to 1971. During his time in the military, Roger received many medals including a purple heart.
Once he returned home, he attended Idaho State University and then moved on to attend Boise State University where he was named as Mr. Bronco. After college, Roger began his career as a wastewater treatment operator for the City of Boise. He retired from the City in 2013. Shortly after retirement, he decided to go back to work for a private company, OMCS.
Roger met the love of his life, Peggy, in 1977. They were married in 1982 and remained in Boise to raise their daughters, Lori and Jennifer. Roger and Peggy went on many adventures over the years, most of them with their best friends Stan and Kathy. He was very outgoing and seemed to make friends everywhere he went. Roger loved to party with his family and friends. He was an amazing story teller, loved to make people laugh and was truly the life of the party. He will be missed by all.
Roger is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughters Lori (Mike) Keller and Jennifer (Dustin) Huston; grandchildren Sara (Kelly) Wolf, Jayden Keller, Casey Huston, and Makayla Huston; and two great grandchildren LaRya and Emery; Brother Roy (Debbie) Jacobson, Sisters Michelle Moore and Gaylynn (Devry) Sommers; and many nieces and nephews.
