Kent Aland - Class of 1961 VIEW PROFILE

Kent Merrel Aland passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018 at Tahoe Pacific Hospital in Sparks, Nevada.

Kent was born on January 2, 1943 in Pocatello, Idaho to Phyllis Egli Aland (Zoppi) and Montee Levi Aland. He grew up in Montpelier, Idaho.

He married Sharon Chadwick on November 18, 1966. Kent lived the creed "Service Above Self" every day of his life. He served in the US Public Health Service and served three missions for the LDS Church. Kent was an avid outdoorsman who was passionate about scouting. His duty to God, family and country was exemplary to all who knew him.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon; their four children, Terri Barbuto (Mike,) Trevor (Avytte,) Troy (Lisa,) and Tim (Jessica;) his eight grandchildren, TJ, Lexy, Taylor, Riley, Talia, Aria, Addy and Brynlee; and numerous extended family who loved and adored him.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 3rd, 10 am at the LDS Red Hills Chapel, 570 E 4th Ave, Sun Valley. View full obituary at lapalomafuneralservices.com.

Raeda McCammon (Wallentine) (1956)

So sorry to hear about Kent.  We served as senior missionaries witih him and Sharon in the Rochester, NY mission.

Jim Adams (1961)

I have fond memories of my friend, Kent.  I can remember him as an enthusiastic member of the football team (I believe he was center) while I sat on the bench.  He will be missed but have a bright hope of the ressurection and will meet him again.  Jim Adams
