Keene Rigby - Class of 1966

Keene Keller Rigby passed away the evening of Thursday Jan. 15 after a three year battle with Melanoma cancer.

He was born in Wardboro, in the old family home on May 28, 1948 to Truman and Lillis Keller Rigby. He served an honorable mission in the British South mission between 1967-1969. Shortly after his return home he met the love of his life, Dellene Griffiths, with whom he was married for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple, and earthly, for 44 years.

He was a farmer at heart and spent his whole life on the farm he grew up on, eventually buying it to raise his family on. He dedicated his services to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his whole life serving in many callings. He dedicated his time as an EMT for 14 years, and retired post office after 24 yrs of service.    His life was spent serving others whenever possible.  He truly loved people.

He is survived by his wife, Dellene, 12 of his children, Richard (Sarah) Rigby, Elisa (Steve) Sheffey, Dustin (Tara) Rigby, Celeste (Joel) Christopherson, Landon (Stacie) Rigby, Jaren (Josey) Rigby, Kamey (Mauricio) Valquinto, Callie (Shawn) Beardall, Shanel Rigby, Kylynne (Ryan) Huber, Shayna (Marco) Ramos, Michael Rigby, 43 grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. He is preceded in death by two children, Lain and baby, his father, his mother, one brother, and one sister.

A viewing will beheld on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary, 702 Clay St., Montpelier, ID 83254. An additional viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 23 from 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral at 1 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 485 S. 7th St., Montpelier. In lieu of flowers, please donate to someone you know who it battling cancer.
