Eldo Nield - Class of 1958

Eldo Turner Nield was born March 4, 1940 in Afton, Wyoming to parents Ortho Nield and Delia Turner Nield. One of four children, Eldo had a brother and two sisters. The family moved to Montpelier, Idaho where he grew up. He lived most of his life in Buhl, Idaho.

He is survived by Sisters Mary Jensen of Providence Utah and Carolyn Spatig of Smithfield Utah; three children from his first marriage; five children from his second marriage; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He worked as a Dairymen/Farmer hired hand, then later in life he became a welder for Halverson Construction. Many times we drove by the Kaysville, Utah LDS grain mill and he would always say, “I welded on top of those grain silos”. Later in his life he served an LDS service mission at a walnut plantation in California. About five years before his death he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He underwent two years of radiation therapy in Utah and finished with a clean bill health. He found great joy in a team of draft horses and loved to show them off by pulling an old wagon in parades.
