Story from the 50's on Woodlawn Street. Authored by my brother Dave. Does this ring a bell. Hope you don't take this wrong.

We liked to explore the creek. One day Paul and I were in the woods/willows around the creek when a bunch of older boys captured and threatened us. I think Rulon Homer was the ringleader but Guy Arnell and, I think, Peter Guyon, were there too. They said we were trespassing on their territory. They blindfolded us, spun us around so we would lose our sense of direction, and took us to their clubhouse, which was an old potato cellar with a candle burning as the only light source. Rulon wanted to rough us up, but Guy Arnell, who was a neighbor and friend, intervened on our behalf and said we should be warned and set free. Then they blindfolded us again and took us back to the spot they found us. They said if they ever caught us near the creek again, they would rough us up. A couple days later Paul and I snuck back to their club house, which was easy to find even though we had been blindfolded. The clubhouse was locked with a padlock but they left the key right next to padlock, so we took the key and threw it away.

I feel that the short bio entered for Kay considerably understated his accomplishments, and I am sure I didn't know but a fraction of them.  Kay was a "one off" type of guy.  He would sit in some classes doodling math problems but ignoring what he was supposed to be doing.  Most of us were not aware of his intellectual firepower until he was announced as one of the five! National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists from our class.  For those who may have forgotten, that number of winners placed MHS Class of '58 among the highest ranks of all of the High Schools Clases in the US; I believe it was the highest number of winners for any High School in the entire West.  The other winners from MHS were Nolan Clark, Lance Taylor, Joan Ream and Linda Crane.  Cudos to them.  Kay was the surprise to me as he didn't push himself very hard in High School and didn't come out with particularly high grades.  As a consequence he wasn't accpepted at some of the Name schools but ultimately matriculated at Tulane in New Orleans.  I lost track of him from there so if any of the readers of this note can add to the post college career of Kay please do. Kay certainly marched to a different drummer but I respected and liked him a lot.  He was a credit to his family.  Larry Grimes, March 6, 2019.

Hi from Terrell Skinner
It is a thrill to see you long so gorgeous as you dance with your husband. You look like a wonderful couple that are still in love after 50 years of marriage. If wee ever have another case reunion I will try my best to see you and the rest of our 60's group again. Life has been good for Denise and myself We still live in Cardston, but spend 4 months each year here in St. George while the winter wears itself out up in the more northern climes.. My best to your and yours always!!
