Garth Tonks Boehme, 71 of Geneva, Idaho passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho.
Garth married Denise on May 10, 1974, in Geneva, ID and they were sealed in the Logan Temple on May 10, 1979. Through the years 6 kids were added to this herd: Stephnie, Heather, Tyson, Natalie, Devin, and Dustin. They raised their family in Geneva, ID on the family farm.
Garth was born on December 7,1951 to Russell and Elma Boehme in Montpelier, ID and was the fourth child of eight kids. Garth spent his childhood on the family farm in Geneva, ID. He graduated from Bear Lake High school in 1970. He then attended Idaho State University in the mechanics program. He returned to Bear Lake and worked in various jobs between Montpelier and Cokeville as a mechanic. He also became a self-taught builder and worked on many construction jobs, from small repairs to building numerous homes from start to finish. He was never afraid to try anything new and made sure to teach his family along the way. The valley is marked by his handiwork and craftsmanship.
In 1989 Garth joined his dad in a partnership in running the R&G Ranch and Dairy and then in 1994 Garth and Denise took over the partnership and became soul owners of the G/D Ranch and Dairy. In 2007 their sons were added to the operation, which is currently known as Mahogany Ridge Dairy Farms, LLC.
Garth is survived by his wife Denise of Geneva, Id., their children Stephnie (Rick) Paterakis of Wellsville, UT, Heather Boehme of Hooper, UT, Tyson Boehme of Geneva, ID, Natalie (Justin) Champine of Providence Forge, VA, Devin (Missy) Boehme of Geneva, ID, Dustin (Courtney) Boehme of Liberty, ID, 14 grandkids, 5 great-grand kids, 6 siblings and many other loved ones.
He is preceeded in death by his parents and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30,2023 at 11:00 am in the Geneva Ward Chapel. The viewing will be held Sunday, October 29,2023 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary and again prior to services in Geneva from 9:00 – 10:45 am. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery.
