Edward Closner - Class of 1919

Edward Franklin Closner, 93, died Apnl 26,1992, in the Bear Lake County Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 10, 1898, in Montpelier, to Theodore Wm. and Marie Mae Herron Closner. He was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1919, however he did not graduate. He served in the US military during WWI. He married Janet Shaw in June 1923 and divorced in December that year. He married Leda Jensen Michaelson March 2, 1925, and they were divorced in 1954. He then married Lois Stock Michaelson later that same year and she died April 9, 1985. He worked as a locomotive engineer for UPRR for 43 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the LDS church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Jerry K. (Joan) Miles, Logan; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Stock Michaelson. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary. Viewing will be one how prior to service. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
