Monte Jean Aland was born in Montpelier August 30, 1944, the daughter of Dean Holmes and Nada Genevieve Sorensen Aland. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1962. She married Brenton Ernest Rowett June 12, 1964. She died December 7, 2001 in Sacramento, California.
