Merle Booth (Bailey) - Class of 1922

Funeral services for Merle Booth Bailey, 80, a native of Bear Lake County, were held October 18, 1963 at the Summers Funeral Home in Boise. Mrs. Bailey suffered a heart attack one week prior to her death, which occurred on October 12, 1963. The daughter of Calvin Francis and Omilia Eugenia Dalrymple Booth, she was born June 11, 1903 at St. Charles. She was one of seven children from this marriage, all of whom, including her twin brother, preceded her in death. She was raised and educated in the Montpelier area, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1922, and resided in southern Idaho until her family moved to LaGrande, Oregon in 1940. Since 1956 the family made their home in Boise. Mrs. Bailey's husband, Claude D. Bailey, became vice-president and general manager of the Idaho Pacific Steel warehouse. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Vayle Bailey of Sacramento; three daughters, Mrs. Diane Conrad of Boise, Mrs. Bob (Chere) Mink of LaGrande, and Mrs. John (Beth) McGivern of Portland, Oregon; eight grandchildren' and numerous nieces and nephews.
