James Kunz - Class of 1955

Kansas City, Kan.—James Albert Kunz, 42, formerly Ogden and Bountiful, died Friday, Aug. 22, 1980 of complications following surgery for cancer. He was born December 27, 1936 in Montpelier, a son of Albert and Euphema Murphy Kunz. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955.  He married Merritt Blackwell, June 7. 1960. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Logan Temple. They later were divorced. He was raised and educated in Montpelier, where he graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955, and was graduated as a computer programmer from Utah Technical College, Salt Lake City. He had worked for the Defense Depot, Ogden, and J.C. Penney Co., Salt Lake City, and was a member of the LDS Church, having served in the elders quorum and other positions. He also served in the Air Force. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. York (Marque) Powell, Miss Johnna Kunz, Miss Brittany Kunz, all Centerville; two brothers, C.J. Everton, Roy, Utah, Ronald Kunz, Satellite,  Fla; sisters Include Mrs. Glen (Myria) Peck; Mrs. Nadeen Riggs. both Pocatello. Services were held Monday at 11 a m at Lundquist Bountiful Mortuary. Interment was in Montpelier City Cemetery where graveside services were held.
