Cody Kent Crane - Class of 1993

Cody Kent Crane, 20, son of Kent and Anne Rowsell Crane, died September 27, 1994 in Montpelier.  Cody fought Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy all his life and was confined to a wheelchair from the age of nine.  Despite his limitations he achieved a great deal.  In grade school he won the district spelling bee and the Young Authors Contest sponsored by Idaho State University.  He tried to get good grades making the honor roll repeatedly and graduated from Bear Lake High School as an honor student.  He served as a special ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as well as local and state poster child for many years.  He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Young Mens president and on the seminary council.  At the time of his death he was an Elder serving as a stake youth missionary.  He is survived by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.  Funeral services were held in the Bennington LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Bennington Cemetery.
