Grace Mildred Whitman was born March 10, 1892 the daughter of Henry Briggs and Elizabeth G. Hunter Whitman.  She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1910 which was the first graduating class in Montpelier.  She married George August Schoper and they had four children.  She died March 15, 1974 and was buried in the Montpelier Cemetery.
