Rasmus Nelson - Class of 1926

Rasmus K. (P.K.) Nelson, 82, died at the Alta View Hospital February 16, 1969 of complications following surgery.

He was born February 25, 1906 in St. Charles, Idaho, to Rasmus Peter Nelson and Ann Greenwood Keetch. 

He was preceded in death by three wives, Zula Jensen, Annabelle Whitesides and Leone Davis. He married Ruth D. Palmer on June 7, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He received BS and MS degrees from Utah State University. He was a chemist for Monsanto Chemical Company and was a farmer and rancher in Bear Lake County, Idaho. 

He was active in the LDS Church serving in several capacities including Elder's Quorum President High Priest Group Leader and home teacher. In his early life he served a mission in the eastern Canadian Mission and later served a mission with his wife, Ruth, in Canada Winipeg Mission.

Survived by his wife, Ruth; twenty-five children; one hundred twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the South Jordan LDS 19th Ward Chapel, 1650 West 11400 South, where friends may call two hours prior services, arranged by Larkin Mortuary.

Additional services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Montpelier Idaho 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 485 South 7th. Friends may call two hours prior.
