Bill Jensen - Class of 1959

Bill Wayne Jensen, 28, died of a heart attack Sunday, November, 1969 while alone on a deer hunt in the hilly area between Alton and Banks Valley.  His body was found lying face up on a shale covered slope of Rocky Hollow leading to the Bud Lloyd Ranch at Alton.  His rifle with a fired shell in the barrel was at his side and there was blood on his hunting knife.  Apparently he had killed a deer and had almost returned to his parked truck when the seizure prompted him to lie down on the gentle incline.  Bill was the son of DuWayne Jensen and Lillian Lewis Lee.  He was born September 25, 1941 at Glenns Ferry.  He lived nearly all his life in Bear Lake County, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1959 and shortly after enlisting in the US Army.  Following his service and honorable discharge as PFC from Army Reserve he married Nancy Jean Lloyd on November 19, 1966 at Dingle.  He was engaged primarily in construction work.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  Survivors include his widow and a son.  Funeral services were held in the Dingle Ward Chapel followed by interment in the Dingle Cemetery.
