David Gerald Scott, born December 9, 1953 to Gerald Udell and Myrna Vorwaller Scott, passed away on July 18, 2013 at his home in St. George, Utah.

He was the foundation of his family, caring for his wife and helping his children.

He was not only known for his track and running skills throughout high school, but also for football and other sports.  His love for the outdoors was evident by his fishing, hunting and camping skills.

He adored history and rarely did not know an answer to any geological question when asked.  His passion for collecting rocks and pointing out the composition to anyone would bring a smile to his face.  Constellations and stars were also a keen interest; sharing his observations with anyone who was in earshot.

He loved to visit the Family History Library located in Salt Lake City on a regular basis to research about his genealogy and heritage.  He enjoyed all of his church callings and the people he was able to serve.

His profession as a welder/pipe fitter served as a vehicle that enabled him to travel to many places and meet new people.  His special made welder hats were his trademark.

He was honest to a fault always keeping his standards high.  His patience was exceptional; triumphing over any obstacle that came his way. He adored all of his children and grandchildren more than anything, even more than the ice cream which was a staple in his diet.  Although his bearded appearance projected a tough persona, everyone would attest how soft hearted he was with an immense love for life.  He was always ready and willing to help anyone in need, even if it meant sacrificing something personal.  He will be missed dearly but remembered forever.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Roberts Scott.  Children, Aaron Scott, Angela (Marc) Pélissié, Adam (Cherina) Scott, Abbey Scott, Amy Scott.  Grandchildren, Oliviér Pélissié, Asher Scott, Sébastién Pélissié, Jaiden Scott, Maddox Scott, Juliette Pélissié, Xavier Scott.  Brothers, Mark (Ming-yin) Scott, Frantz (Heidi) Scott.  Brother-in-law, John (Deb) Roberts.  Sister-in-laws, Kristie Roberts, Becky (Steven) Compton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Myrna Scott.  Siblings, Gregory Scott, Michael Scott and many uncles and aunts.
