Alta Lauridsen Brown, 71, died at home in Montpelier October 27, 2001 after fighting a long battle with illnesses.  She was born October 21, 1930 in Montpelier to Louis and Pearl Green Lauridsen.  She grew up on the Lauridsen ranch in Wardboro where she helped break horses and was a true cowgirl.  She loved the outdoors and animals, expecially her dogs.  She met and married the love of her life, LeRoy Brown and they made their home in Montpelier.  She was an active member of the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She is survived by three children and three grandchildren.
