Melvin Jacob Messerly, 68, passed away July 26 in a Salt Lake City hospital.  He was born March 22, 1914 in Montpelier to Robert and Eliza Kunz Messerly.  He married Thelma Gertsch March 14, 1938 in Paris, Idaho.  He was a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years.  Survivors include his wife, two daughters and two grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel.  Burial was in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
