Durwood Perkins - Class of 1943

Durwood Perkins, 59, died Monday, January 30, 1984 in a Murray, Utah hospital.  He was born December 31, 1924 in Montpelier to W. Louis and Nellie B. Pearce Perkins.  He graduated from Montpelier schools and then attended Air Corps cadet training and served as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Upon returning home from the war he attended the University of Idaho.  He married Elaine Bunderson July 17, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions during his lifetime including Sunday School president, MIA president and Ward Clerk in the bishopric.  He served on the Montpelier City Council for a number of years and was president of the Montpelier Lion's Club and president of the Montpelier Golf Association.  He worked as a salesman for Bear Lake Motor Company for 27 years.  He is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters and five grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in he Montpelier First Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
