David Widmer - Class of 1942

David Woodruff Widmer, passed away May 24, 2011.

He was born on June 29, 1921 to John Rudolph Widmerand Anna Maria Wenger Widmer, in Montpelier, Idaho. He graduated from Montpelier High School, and served a LDS in the British Wales area, then served his country as a medic in WWII.

David married Emma Vilate Tippets in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 29, 1950.

He worked for the Railroad, a glass company and retired as an electrician at HAFB.

David was very active in the LDS church where he held many positions including a Temple mission with his wife. He was also a master gardener and a skillful Tinkerer.

David is survived by: Steve Widmer (Mary), Ephraim, Utah, Greg Widmer (Ann), Harrisville, Utah, Colleen Widmer Anderson (Wayne), Twin Falls, Idaho. Also 15 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma Vilate Tippets, and his daughter Julie Widmer Roberts.

Funeral services for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
