Clifford Scott Pendrey was born on June 25, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Warren Scott Pendrey (1899 - 1968) and Verda Maud Toomer Pendrey (1902 - 1992). He had a brother, Charles Herbert Pendrey (1927 - 2009). He married Mary Kay Sorgatz December 23, 1944. Clifford died on October 3, 1988 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Idaho and was buried in the Idaho Falls Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
