Richard Collipriest - Class of 1929

MONTPELIER - Richard L. (Dick) Collipriest passed away on July 21, 1999, at Logan Regional Hospital after waiting patiently for two years to join his beloved Virginia.

Richard was born in Montpelier, Idaho, October 25, 1910, to Henry and Elspit Gordon Collipriest. He was the youngest of seven children. He lived his entire life in Montpelier. He married Virginia Dimick on August 3, 1938, and they spent the next 59 years doing everything together. They loved fishing the streams around Montpelier, especially Crow Creek. She preceded him in death on August 6, 1997.

Richard owned and operated a Texaco service station in Montpelier for a short time, then worked for several years for Joe Burgoyne at the "Blue Light Service" station on Washington Street. In the 1950s he became a security guard for Central Farmers Fertilizer in Georgetown, Idaho, later Becker Industries, Soda Springs, and worked there until he retired.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge. He loved being a Mason and enjoyed the association with his brothers at the local chapter #27. There he held several positions over the years and continued as treasurer until the time of his death.

Dick is survived by his two daughters, Janet (Bob) Petersen, Heber City, Utah, and Mary Lyn (Sterling) Rich, Logan, Utah; four grandchildren, Jennifer Pfaff, San Diego, Calif.; Scott Rich, Eugene, Oregon; Michael Rich and Andrew Rich, both of Logan, Utah; two nephews, Harold Collipriest, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Keith Collipriest, Fullerton, Calif.; four special nieces, Betty Perkins, Montpelier; Glenna (John) Franzola, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Barbara (Ralph) Drake, Bountiful, Utah, and Dorothy (Gale) Thomas, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on Monday, July 26, 1999, at Matthews Mortuary, Montpelier. Burial with Masonic services will be held at the Montpelier City Cemetery.
