Forrest Closner - Class of 1935

Forrest Henry Closner, 88, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004 at his home in Boise. Forrest was born on April 21, 1916 in Montpelier, Idaho to William Henry and Lillian Orchard Closner. He attended schools in Montpelier. Upon graduation he attended Idaho State University and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in forestry. Forrest worked his entire life for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Soil Conservation Service. He is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific. 

Forrest married Hazel Jacqueline Humburg on Nov. 14, 1941 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Forrest and Hazel served together in the Boise, Idaho Temple from the time it opened.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter. Forrest is survived by his wife Hazel; and four children, Bret (Linda) Closner, Christy Ann (David) Ward, Jacque Jo (Reed) Robertson, and Lillian (Joe) Briner; two sisters, Mary Ellen Porter and Harriet (Farrell) Wuthrich; an aunt, Kathryn VanOrman; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004 at the Northview LDS Chapel, located at 6711 Northview St. Interment will take place at Montpelier Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2:00 p.m.
