Fern Kunz (Galloway) - Class of 1938

BERN - Fern Kunz Galloway, 80, our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at her home in Bern of a lingering illness.

She was born March 23, 1920, in Bern, Idaho, to Parley P. and Hilda Stoor Kunz. She attended school in Bern, graduated from Montpelier High School, and attended Idaho State University.

She married Richard Irvine Galloway on Sept. 16, 1939, in Arco, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

Fern was an active member of the LDS Church, and served faithfully in many capacities throughout her life. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, traveling with her sisters, and especially the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by eight children, Richard (Myrna), Robert (Donna), Ralph (Elaine), Ronald (JoAnn), Rodney (Linda), Elizabeth (Weldon) Clark, Karla (Richard) Webb and Arline (Dana) Devlin; 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Dale, Richard, Phillip, Paul and Arthur; five sisters, LaRue, Carol, LaVaun, Naomi and Eva. She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, a brother, Owen, a sister, Geniel Smith, a daughter-in-law, JoAnn, grandson, Skyler, and a granddaughter, Andrea Jo.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Bern LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Bern Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
