MONTPELIER — Edith Mary Bunn passed away Monday, December 13, 2010. Edith was born on January 2, 1926 in Dingle, Idaho to Henry Ray and Arvilla Nowland Bird. She was raised in Dingle and graduated from Montpelier High School. After graduation she went with a couple of friends to Syracuse, Utah to work in a tomato factory. When she moved back she went to work at King’s until she met Lyman and married him.
Edith married Lyman H. Bunn on July 20, 1946 in Paris, Idaho. They lived in Montpelier, then Raymond, until Craig was born in 1948 and they moved to their home in Paris. Brent came into the family in 1952.

Edith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings over the years. She served under three Relief Society Presidents, in the library and loved singing in the choir. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on May 25, 1966. She attended the temple monthly with friends in her ward.

Edith was also involved in the Daughter’s of Utah Pioneers, she worked for the county during elections at the polls and loved going to the sewing club.

Edith loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, particularly canning the vegetables and raspberries from Lyman’s garden. Her grandchildren loved her cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies and chili sauce. Edith loved to travel and was always on the go. She was kind, loving, patient and had a good sense of humor.

Edith is survived by her sons: Craig and his wife Cynthia of Corona, California and Brent and his wife, Susie of Montpelier; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; sistersin-law, Wilma Johnson, Connie and Lynn Peterson, Mary Bunn and Flora Bird and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lyman H. Bunn, her parents, brothers, Walter, Reed and Jerry and sister, Vena.

We want to thank all of her family and friends who were helpful through her illness, especially the doctors and nurses at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital and the skilled nursing unit.
