John Jensen - Class of 1946

POCATELLO - John C. (Bud) Jensen, 71, passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, July 18, 2000.

John was born August 25, 1928, to John Edward and Louise M. Wyler Jensen in Montpelier, Idaho. He was raised there, and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1946. John then served in the Army in the late 1940s. He had resided in Pocatello, Idaho, for more than 30 years.

On October 16, 1948, John married Dora Jean Smith.

He worked for Challenge Creamery for many years. He also worked for FMC in Pocatello until he retired. Some of his interests included fishing, bowling, traveling, gardening and wintering in Arizona with his close friends.

John is survived by his companion, Lucille McEntire, sons, David (Althea) Jensen and Donald (Lyrl) Jensen, all of Pocatello; daughters, Vickie (Ernie) Gunter, McCammon, Idaho, and Susanne Hull, Kenai, Alaska; sister, Donna Barnes of California; grandsons, Andy Jensen and Beau Gunter; granddaughters, Lacey Jensen, Shayana (Jamey) McLaughlin, Andrea Roan, Sara Roan, Jessica Gunter, all of Pocatello, and Monica Gunter, Soda Springs, Idaho; and one great-granddaughter, Reegan Gunter, Pocatello, Idaho. John was preceded in death by his wife, Dora J. Jensen, and his brother, Donald E. Jensen.

Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, with military rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello, Idaho.
