Raymond Williams - Class of 1961

Raymond Lyndon Williams, 61, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2003. He was born March 14, 1942, in Montpelier to David Lyndon Williams and Golda L. Pugmire. He attended school in Montpelier. He served in the Marine Corps, and was released on a medical discharge.

He married Diana Lewis on Nov. 17, 1961, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS
Temple. They made their home in Montpelier, where they raised their five children. He worked several
different jobs in his lifetime, from city police officer to construction, to running heavy equipment, which he
enjoyed doing. His last employment was at P&M Coal Mine in Kemmerer, Wyoming.

Raymond was well-known for his sense of humor and his distinctive laugh. He was an active member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a high priest, served as a Cub master, assistant
financial clerk, and presently serving in the presidency of the Sunday school.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Diana; his five children, Lyndon (Tami) Williams, Scott (Beki) Williams,
Kaylene (DK) Parker, April (Robert) Mathews and Trisha (Gary) Wixom, all of Montpelier; 11 grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lenard (Lora) Williams of Mendon, Utah. He was preceded in
death by his parents and two sisters that died in infancy.

Funeral services were held March 29,2003 in the Montpelier Stake Center. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
