Connie Roberts (Skinner) - Class of 1954

Connie Roberts Skinner was born July 21, 1936 to Willis and Louise King Roberts in Lanark, Idaho. She was the youngest of three children. Connie had one older sister, Velda, and one older brother, Max. Connie attended Paris Elementary School. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1954. During her youth, Connie would ride with her father who operated a delivery truck. She would help with milk cows on her family’s farm.

Connie was married in 1954 to Gary Loveland. She had one son, Lamar during this marriage. She was later divorced from her first husband.

Connie met Isaac Skinner from a mutual friend in January 1958. Connie and Isaac were married on October 11, 1958. Together Connie and Isaac had five children: Willis Evan, Jean Louise, Ricky Lynn, LuDean, Deann.
Connie was a supportive wife to her husband, Isaac. She would help him with his family business of mowing lawns and snow removal. Connie and Isaac would enjoy evenings together watching “I Love Lucy” and “The Waltons.” Occasionally Connie and Isaac would go on a date to The Ranch Hand for dinner and an evening on the town.

During their marriage Connie and Isaac lived in Montpelier, Georgetown, Bennington, Cokeville, and Montpelier once again.

In April 2015 Connie entered the Skilled Nursing Facility at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital where her daughters, Jean and LuDean resided. Isaac joined Connie and her two daughters in the facility one month later.

Connie passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Isaac, and children: Lamar, Jean, Ricky, LuDean and Deann. She was preceded in death by her son Willis.

There will be a viewing for Connie at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 11:30am to 12:45pm, with Connie’s funeral following at 1pm in the mortuary chapel.

Burial will be in the Montpelier City cemetery following the funeral services.
