Patricia Bagley (Sorenson) - Class of 1960

Patricia Lou Bagley Sorenson, 69, of St. Anthony passed away in her home on June 4, 2011, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Patricia was born Oct. 31, 1941, in Montpelier to Cleone and Lewis Ward Bagley. She graduated from Montpelier High School as valedictorian and graduated from Utah State University with high honors with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Patricia married her high school sweetheart Charles Samuel Sorenson on Aug. 7, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple.

She taught school in the Logan school district until her husband graduated from Utah State and began his career with the Forest Service. At that time, they started their family.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active all of her life. She had a special love for the Relief Society and served in many positions including ward Relief Society President and was a member of the stake Relief Society presidency. She was a talented musician and served as an organist and pianist throughout her life.

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and held many positions in that organization. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed all types of handcrafts.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Sorenson of St. Anthony; her children Todd (Michele) Sorenson of Idaho Falls, Stacey (Rick) Hopkin of Lewisville, Texas and Suzanne (Bryan) Stoddard of St. Anthony; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her parents.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center, conducted by Bishop Michael Carlson. Interment was in the St. Anthony Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
