Nadeen Kunz (Riggs) - Class of 1952

POCATELLO - Nadeen Kunz Riggs passed away peacefully at the age of 69, surrounded by her children following a sudden illness on Jan. 20, 2004. She was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Albert R. and Euphemia Murphy Kunz. Nadeen was raised and educated in Montpelier. She lived in Soda Springs, Idaho; Butte, Montana, but spent most of her adult life in Pocatello, Idaho, where she raised her family.

Nadeen married Joseph Clark Riggs, Nov. 20, 1953, in Soda Springs. They later divorced in April, 1980.

Nadeen worked 23 years at AMI. She was a member of the Rodeo Board and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and all children that she met. Nadeen loved cooking and baking for others and was known for her wonderful pies. She enjoyed country dancing, the rodeo, and reading. She prized her relationships with others the most. She was known for her attention to detail and her immaculate home and appearance.

Nadeen is survived by her children: Brenda (Mike) Wagner, Sunnyside, Wash., Jolene (Mark) Welker, Pocatello, Joel (Michaeline) Riggs, Pocatello, Corey Riggs, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Myrla Peck, Pocatello; a brother, Ronald R. Kunz, Daytona Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Arthel Schutt; a brother, James (Jimmy) Kunz; and her former husband, Joe Riggs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello.

Burial will follow the service at the Montpelier City Cemetery.
