Sonya Lu Smith Hale was born on September 6, 1945 and passed away on June 17, 2014 peacefully at home with her children. She was born to Cal and Rachel Smith in Salt Lake City Utah. She was married to Fred Hale on August 16, 2002 who was the love of her life.

Sonya loved doing hair and enjoyed making many ladies in care centers feel beautiful. She loved her four children, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Family meant the world to her and making sure there were family get togethers and playing kickball with her grandchildren. She would run right there along with the family. She was so strong and always seemed to have time for everyone.

She is survived by her parents Cal and Rachel Smith. Her four children, Eric (Danelle) Lind, Lisa Higgins, Lara (Chris) Miller, Jana (Wayne) Gough. Grandchildren EJ Lind and Tessa Lind, Daniele, Shaylyn, Curtis, and Saydi Higgins, Jordan, Jaxson, and Bella Miller, Jaren, Jansen, and Jayda Gough and three great grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Fred Hale.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 21, 2014 at 12345 S 2700 W. Riverton, Utah. A viewing before the services starting at 9:30am and funeral service to begin at 11:30am. Interment at Wasatch Lawn South Valley Cemetery. 13001 S 3600 W. Riverton, Ut.
