Kenneth Blair Cleveland Eklund - Class of 1968

Kenneth Blair Cleveland (Eklund), age 45, passed away on April 25, 1996, of heart failure in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born June 27, 1950, in Salt Lake City, the son of Blair Jesse and Nadina Rogers Cleveland. He attended Weber High School in Ogden, and graduated from Montpelier High School in Montpelier, Idaho.

He played the trumpet in several trios and groups. He won many music awards locally and throughout the intermountain region. He enjoyed playing football, fishing, ice skating, boating, and riding horses. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Glen (Nadine) VanLeeuwen, brothers Rick Eklund of St. George, Derk (Julie) Ekland of North Ogden, sisters Jill (Fred) Heszler of Ogden, and Joan (Val) Iverson of South Ogden. Also surviving are 13 nieces and nephews and his companion Patti, and her family the Lees. He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, Glenn Eklund, and one brother, Roger Eklund. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 pm at the Myers Mortuary at 845 Washington Blvd. on Sunday. A graveside service and internment will be held at the St. Charles Cemetery, St. Charles, Idaho.
