Kathleen Quayle (Richards) - Class of 1917

Funeral services were held in Silver Spring, Maryland for Kathleen Quayle Richards, 71, who died at her home in Hyattsville, Maryland September 16, 1971 of a heart ailment. Burial was in Arlington cemetery in Virginia. Mrs. Richards was born on December 9, 1899 in Montpelier, the daughter of John Freeman and Margaret Ellen Hunter Quayle. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1917. She was prominent in music circles and will be remembered by many friends in Montpelier and Bear Lake county. She was a member of the LDS Church and a music teacher. She married Alan Richards on March 7, 1925 in Montpelier and he died July 30, 1960. They moved to Silver Spring in 1950. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Richards of San Francisco, and Alan Kent Richards of Silver Spring; a sister, Mrs. LaRue Q. McFarlane of Cedar City, Utah, and a brother, John W. Quayle of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
