Todd Keith Martindale - Class of 1980

Todd Keith Martindale, 18, was killed Tuesday September 30, 1980 in an industrial accident while working for Washington Construction Co. in Dry Valley. He was born March 28, 1962, in Pocatello, to Keith P. and Marilyn Whaley Martindale. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He went to school in Montpelier, graduating in 1980 from Bear Lake High School where he was active in football and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his parents, Bern; four brothers, Paul, Joel, Jay, and Aaron Martindale, all of Bern; three sisters, Shannon of Logan, and Noelle and Lynn, both of Bern; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Martindale, Pocatello, and Wilford Whaley, Schatham, Ontario, Canada. Funeral services were held in the Bern Ward Chapel Saturday with Bp. Leland Kunz conducting. Interment was in the Bern Cemetery where Leon Hardastle dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Todd Caldwell, Rick Poulsen, Frantz Scott, Stewart Portela, Brett Nelson, and Robbie Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Bartschi, Vaughn Bloxham, David Potter; David Smith, Brady Anthony, and Jeff Michel. The Bern Relief Society was in charge of the flowers. Funeral arrangements were by Matthews Mortuary. Paul Martindale gave the family prayer and Carrie Anthony played prelude and postlude music. "O My Father" was sung and LaRae Kunz gave the invocation. Shannon Martindale gave the life sketch and Keith Martindale gave remarks. "O Remember My Son" was sung by Scott Kunz and Pres. Montain Kunz was the speaker. A musical number was given by Jill Passey, Leigh Schoper and Jeannette Hess and the benediction was given by James Hardcastle.
