Greg D. Passey - Class of 1979

Greg D. Passey, 48, beloved father, son, and brother, passed away on March 9, 2009 in Ogden, Utah due to a sudden asthma attack. Greg was born in Montpelier, on December 1, 1960 to DeVerl F. and Joan T. Passey. He grew up in Lanark, helping on the family dairy farm. During his high school years, Greg worked as a DJ at the KVSI radio station. He also earned his Eagle Scout award during these years. After graduating from Bear Lake High in 1979, Greg went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in communications with a minor in business from Utah State University in 1985. During his time in college, Greg served an LDS mission in Independence, Mo. He also continued to work in radio stations in Logan and Box Elder County. Upon graduating again from Utah State University in 1993 with a Master's Degree in business administration, Greg moved to San Francisco for a short time. He then came back to Utah and and worked at Thiokol. On June 21, 1986, Greg marned Katherine Holmgren. Together, they created four beautiful children, Elizabeth Katherine, Emily Grace, Hannah Rose, and Thomas Greg. After Greg and Kate parted ways, he continued to spend as much time as he could with his children, who meant the world to him. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents and heroes, Grace and Garland Toland, Ida and Leo Passey; and his uncle, Larry Toland. He is survived by his parents; his sister and brother, Jill (Rick) Ashcroft of Clarkston, Utah and Troy (Karen) Passey of Boise; and his four children, Elizabeth, Emily, Hannah and Tommy. Funeral services were held on March 16 at the Liberty LDS Chapel, in Liberty. Interment was in the Lanark Cemetery.
