In Memory

Lynn LaVor Hemmert - Class of 1978

Lynn Lavor Hemmert was born July 8th, 1960 in Montpelier, Idaho to Lavor and Arlene Hemmert. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1978. Upon graduating he entered the Army, where he served in Frankfurt, Germany until 1981. He then raced home to marry the love of his life, Kendra Hirschi. They were married in the Logan Temple on August 21st, 1981.

Lynn and Kendra lived in the Salt Lake City area for over 25 years where they were blessed with their greatest treasures: their son, Beau, and daughter, Kylie. They were also blessed to be able to help in the raising of two other children, Matt and Zach Bawden.

In 1990, Lynn was called to serve in the Desert Shield/Storm conflict where he supplied fuel to the frontlines. He worked for Slusser Wholesale as a route salesman servicing the Utah area for 25 years. He then started his dream job of becoming a long-haul truck driver, where he worked until his death on May 9th, 2017.

Lynn’s children were the light of his life. Even while he was on the road he always made sure to stay in constant contact with them every single week. He loved playing card games, the outdoors, traveling, reading, he was a huge pop culture buff – especially when it came to science fiction – and most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and making his wife happy.

Lynn was well-loved by all that knew him and he never hesitated to give a helping hand to everyone around him. It was always important to him that he not only be an organ donor, but that his body be donated to medical science, showing how big of a heart he truly had.

He is survived by his wife, Kendra, and two kids Beau and Kylie; his parents, Lavor and Arlene Hemmert; his siblings Blain (Phyllis) Hemmert; Steven (Margie) Hemmert; Shawn (Darcy) Hemmert; Jonathan (Carrie) Hemmert; Ann Hemmert; Glen (Jamie) Hemmert; his mother-in-law, Glenna Hirschi as well as Guy (Deb) Hirschi; Stephanie (Gene) Larsen; and Wendy (Brett) Turner; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

As part of his final wishes, Lynn did not want a funeral service. We encourage everyone to celebrate his life and remember him in any form they would like. We welcome all visitors or for anyone to contact us if they have any questions or would like to give their love and support. In lieu of flowers, please send cards to 1372 Bitterroot Drive, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
