Beulah Stevens (Stewart) - Class of 1918

A nobel character and citizen passed to her reward at her home In Montpelier, at 2 o'clock p. m. Thursday, August 1. 1929 when the grimm reaper cut down the span of life from Beulah Stevens Stewart. The only daughter of Alexander Alvin Stevens and Louisa Kristina Krogue, she was born at Bloomington, Idaho, September 7, 1898. Her father died when she was but one year of age thus depriving her of a father's love and care. However, this was made up for by the tender care and love of an affectionate mother and kind and loving brothers. She was graduated with high honors from the District school at Bloomington, after which she entered the Fielding Academy where she distinguished herself as a student of marked ability, graduating from that institution with honors to herself and credit to the school. Her name and photo also appear as a member of the class of 1918 in a Montpelier High School yearbook. On October, 31, 1917 she was united in marriage to Glenn Floyd Stewart, son of John C. Stewart and Sarah Floyd. The young married couple began their married life at St. Charles where they won the love and respect of the entire community. In the spring of 1918 they moved to Montpelier, where they have since resided. She was a true christian and an ardent church worker having labored in various auxiliary organizations of the ward and stake, filling each position with honor and integrity and in each Instance she won the love and esteem of all with whom she labored. She was In very deed a home builder, a loving wife and companion, an indulgent mother a dutiful and affectionate daughter and a true friend and neighbor, who has indeed made the world better by her having lived In It. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Glenn S. 10; Truman. 4 and Noel 2; her mother, Louisa Stevens. and four brothers, Alvin and Merlin of Montpelier and Erman and Rayford of Bloomington. Impressive funeral services were held at the stake tabernacle at 1 o'clock p.m. Sunday. August 4th. She was buried in the Bloomington Cemetery.
