Lynn Hansen - Class of 1959

Lynn Russell Hansen died peacefully in his Roseville home April 22, 2018, surrounded by loving family. He was born July 20, 1941 in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of Russell and Ida Bernice Kibby Hansen. His early years were spent on the family cattle ranch in Bear Lake County. He was an excellent horseman and cattleman. Upon graduating from Utah State University, he was hired as an Agricultural Economist for the Mid Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation in Sacramento, a position he held for 40 years. Lynn was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, he served a mission to Canada under President Thomas S. Monson. He dedicated many more years in service to the church including 18 years as Stake Clerk in the Roseville California Stake. In the mid 60's, Lynn was called into the US Army where he was assigned to the 6th Special Forces at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Lynn is the loving husband of Patsy Ruth McCracken Hansen and the father of Suzanne (Scott) Bergeson, Kevin James (Merrin) Hansen, Jennifer Ruth (Frank) Penney, Krista Karrina (Dan) Hansen, and Nathan Malden Hansen. He is the grandfather of 13 beautiful grandchildren and is the older brother of Verla (Rodney) Wallentine and Lorna (Rodger) Sears. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Bernice Hansen, and infants, Jeffrey Lynn and Brian Russell Hansen. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 211 Estates Dr., Roseville, Ca. Viewing will be held at 9 a.m. in the Relief Society Room. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
