Orval Dimick - Class of 1951

Orval N Dimick, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017.

He was born on May 3, 1933 in Wardboro, Idaho the son of Albert Stuart and Maude Effie Dayton Dimick.

Orval married Helen Jean Nelson on October 25, 1958 in Montpelier, Idaho.

He lived in Wardboro, ID for 36 years and chesterfield, ID for 9 years and Bruno, ID for 2 years and Bancroft, ID for 37 years.

He was a range rider for King Creek, Portneuf Cattlemen’s Association and Chesterfield Land and Livestock. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club and had served on the Caribou County Fair Board. He attended Jim Hendricks School of Veterinary.

Orval “reads between the lines” for Bible Study.

He enjoyed cutteracing, bareback riding, team roping, wild cow mugging gardening and cooking dutch oven. He had the greatest sense of humor. His greatest joy was his wife, children and grandchildren.

Orval is survived by his wife Helen Jean Dimick of Bancroft, ID, two sons, Jim and Nancy Dimick of Orfino, ID, Dan and Canda Dimick of Lava, ID, and four daughters, Jackie and Alton Hebdon of Logan, UT, Sheryl and Dave Gleason of Temple, TX, LuJean and Bill Goodenough of Idaho Falls, ID, LuAnn and Bob Greer of Brookfield, CT. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and one sister Ruth Kirby of Soda Springs, ID.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 8 sisters and 3 grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. Family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Monday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
