In Memory

Dorothy Brown (Lloyd) - Class of 1945

Dorothy Virginia Brown Lloyd was born on November 13, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was welcomed home by her parents Margaret and Charles Brown and her older siblings Marion and Buster. As a young girl her family returned to Lead, South Dakota where her mother had grown up. Her father worked as a miner and her mother raised the family.

In her late teens the Brown family relocated to Montpelier, Idaho. It is in this area of Idaho that Dorothy graduated from high school and met her husband, Ivan “Bud” Lloyd. Together they had three girls: Nancy Jean, Linda Marie, and Marjorie Lyn. The Lloyd girls were raised on a ranch surrounded by cows, horses, friends, family, and most importantly a loving mother.

In the late 1970s, Dorothy left Montpelier and her job as a police dispatcher and moved to Pocatello, Idaho. In Pocatello, she worked at Lamb Weston until her retirement. Once retired, Dorothy, in true form, gave of herself to help young children get a step up in life. She worked as a foster grandmother and teacher's aid at Head Start of Pocatello well into her 80's.

Our steadfast, true, and dearly beloved North Star left us on June 30, 2018, at 91 years of age. Her family and friends will forever be thankful to have loved and been loved by such a creative, funny, generous, and loving woman.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Charles Brown, her brother Buster Brown, her sister Marion Parker, and her son-in-laws Peter Sarvello, and Bill Jensen.

She leaves behind her three beloved daughters and their spouses, Nancy and Jerry Kocer, Linda and Jerry McCalmon, and Marjorie Sarvello as well as her nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and five great - great grandchildren.Funeral service Friday July 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. withviewing prior to service from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Dingle LDS church.
