Jeanne Snyder (Mardick) - Class of 1949

Lorena Jeanne Snyder  Mardick of Longmont died July 5, 2011. She was 79 years old.

Jeanne was born on November 2, 1931 in Eads, Colorado, the daughter of Cecil and Daphne Snyder. Her father was a teacher and professor and her mother also taught. As a child, her happiest moments were riding horses and skiing and fishing with her father in Aspen, where she lived as a teenager. She graduated from high school in Montpelier, Idaho in 1949.

She married Melvin Mardick on June 13, 1951 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.

Jeanne worked in the Boulder Schools as a secretary and had her realtor license.

Painting, pottery and wood carving were her hobbies. She loved to read and her love for animals was always evident. She also loved playing bridge with her friends.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Melvin; three sons, David, Bruce and Danny; five grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; her sister, Frelon (SnyderMardick and two brothers, Hubert Snyderand David Snyder. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst Drive in Longmont. Cremation is under the care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Longmont Senior Center, The OUR Center or the donor's choice in Jean's memory.
