Virginia Dunn (Sneddon) - Class of 1936

Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth (Dunn) Sneddon, born on August 26, 1919, in Montpelier, Idaho, to the late Elizabeth Williams Dunn and the late Jesse E. Dunn, passed away at age 98 on June 19, 2018. Virginia graduated from Montpelier High School in 1936. She was the beloved wife of the late Bennett Louis Sneddon, to whom she was married on January 2, 1937.  Virginia is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Sneddon; and sister, DeEtte Teuscher; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  Virginia loved oil painting and ceramics and was a talented thespian and author of poetry and family histories which she performed.   She loved sewing, handwork and traveling. She was an active member of the L.D.S. church serving in many capacities for nearly fifty years.  She was a board member of Washakie Theatre Group, the chair of the National Heart Association, a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the president of the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Auxilliary as well as the original president of the local oratorio society. The family would like to extend special thanks to the many caregivers at the Bear Lake Manor and the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility for their charitable care. Friends and family members may attend a visitation at 10:30 a.m. prior the memorial service on Friday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary, 702 Clay St., Montpelier.
