Hedwig Aegerter (Hunter) - Class of 1930

Hettie Hunter, 94, of Ririe, died at her home Monday, April 10, 2006. Hettie was born September 28, 1911 at Montpelier, Idaho a daughter of Swiss immigrants John Frederick and Marie Kohler Aegerter. She attended school in Montpelier graduating from Montpelier High School. She then attended Ricks College and Utah State University in Logan, Utah, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. She married David Earl Hunter May 17, 1938 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Sunday School and Relief Society Teacher, as a genealogy name extractor, with her husband as officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple and a mission to the Dallas Ft. Worth, Texas Mission. She taught school in Iona and Ririe for many years. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading, doing genealogy and her grandchildren. She is survived by: two daughters; Mary Lou (Harvey) Groth of Ririe, Lila (George) Wilkerson of Idaho Falls, three sons; David (Bobbi) Hunter of Castro Valley, California, Robert (Roberta) Hunter of Ririe, Charles (Sue) Hunter of Idaho Falls, two sisters; Vesta Bell of Reno, Nevada, Esther Wenz of Lisle, Illinois, one brother Richard Aegerter of Arlington, Virginia, 23 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, 2 brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Monday April 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ririe Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Sunday April 16, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. both at the Ririe Stake Center. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Contributions may be sent to the Perpetual Education Fund or Hospice.
