In Memory

Peggy Hinman (Trachsel) - Class of 1956

Peggy Trachsel, born Nevelda Marie Hinman on April 11, 1937, to Clyde and Marjorie Hinman in Grand Junction, Colo., became known to all as Peggy – a name given to her by her grandpa who swore he’d never call her Nevelda.

She married Deon B. Sparks on Christmas Eve 1955. To this union four children were born: Shona, Boyd, Clyde and Helen. This union, however, ended and Peggy and the kids moved to Big Piney, Wyo. After a couple of years there she met Gerald “Jerry” Trachsel. They married in December of 1976 and were together until Jerry’s passing in August of 2009.

Peggy cooked for several restaurants in the area and had quite the reputation as a good cook. People came from all over to eat at the restaurants where she cooked. She made friends very easily and she enjoyed giving trinkets to her friends and loved to dress up. Peggy passed away Thursdaymorning, Feb. 9, 2012 at the Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming. She will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Trachsel, son Clyde Sparks, daughter Helen Sparks, her parents and a sister.

She is survived by her daughter Shona (Gene) Siems of Daniel, son Boyd (Sue) Sparks of Marbleton, sister Nancy (Don) Berger of Wallace, Idaho, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with two on the way and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at Covill Funeral Home in Pinedale. Peggy will be missed by many but not forgotten. May she rest in peace.
