Marie Berrey was born January 25, 1923 in Montpelier, the daughter of John Alfonzo and Mary Elizabeth Humphreys Berrey. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1940. She married William Vermaas October 16, 1948 in Evanston, Wyoming.  She died April 24, 1994 and was buried in the Wardboro Cemetery.
