Todd Shepherd - Class of 1948

Todd Matthews Shepherd, age 71, man of highest integrity and loved by all, died Thursday, August 8, 2002, from in-juries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born October 15, 1930 in Liberty, Idaho to George Edward and Enda Matthews Shepherd. Served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the British Isles. Proudly served his country in the army during the Korean War. Married his sweetheart, Gwenith Bates, on Dec 20, 1957 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Attended the University of Utah, graduating as a Chemical Engineer. Worked for Thiokol Corp. and Hercules Aerospace in West Valley City, UT, where he retired in 1992 after 33 years of dedicated service.

He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many leadership positions. Todd's greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family. His legacy is a life of service. The greatest sermon he ever preached was how he lived his life. He was truly and example to all.

Survived by his eternal companion Gwen; their seven children, Jeanine (Randy) Lewis, Tremonton, UT, Marilyn (Steve) Shumway, South Jordan, UT, Georgia (Gary) Rosquist, Midvale, UT, Matthew (LeiAnn) Shepherd, North Ogden, UT, Arlen Shepherd, West Valley City, UT, Mitchell Shepherd, Salt Lake City, UT, and Brian Shepherd, Salt Lake City, UT; his two brothers, J. Farrell (Lois) Shepherd and William G. (Jenness deceased) Shepherd, both of Ogden, UT; 17 grandchildren whom he loved dearly; and numerous other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Grenville "Pete" and Kay Shepherd. Todd never liked to say "Goodbye" but rather, "til we meet again." We'll miss you dad.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 6-8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home at 4330 So. Redwood Road in Taylorsville, UT. Funeral Services will be held at12:00 noon on Monday, Aug. 12th at the West Valley Stake Center located in the subdivision at 3963 South Peachwood Dr. (3480 W.) in West Valley City, UT. A viewing will also be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral Services
