W Lee Wright - Class of 1947

Montpelier – Our father, grandfather, and great grandfather William Lee Wright, 90, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. He was born on December 1, 1925 in Montpelier, Idaho, a son of Oliver Winfield and Lillias Speirs Wright. He was raised in Bennington, Idaho and educated in Montpelier, Idaho. He served in the US Army from 1946 until 1947. He married Darla Jean Johnson on June 18, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. He worked as a plumbing wholesaler and for Monsanto in Soda Springs. Following retirement, he and Darla served 7 years on an LDS temple mission in Logan, Utah. He served in many other church callings. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He had a love of horses. Surviving him are six children, Glenn (Debbie) UT, Dale (Mila) Philippines, Eugene (Jill) ID, Darrell (Dawn) ID, Blake (Mar Jean) ID, Mary Ann UT. 21 grandchildren, and 48 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter (Susan), great-granddaughter (Sammy), two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the LDS Montpelier 2nd Ward Building. A viewing was held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:45 AM. Interment was in the Georgetown City Cemetery.
