Tyree Glenn - Class of 1939

Tyree George Glenn passed away May 6, 2006 from natural causes. The family would like to thank Aspen Hospice and all the wonderful nurses and aids for their loving care and help.

He was born January 21, 1920, at Montpelier, Idaho, to Orien Tyree Glenn and Ruby Rosetta Roberts Glenn. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Glenn. They were married and had their children sealed to them in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1962. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, having had a wonderful life raising a great family and traveling extensively throughout their married life.

Ty was a very loving husband, father and friend. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was very positive and upbeat throughout his entire life.

He was a World War II veteran that had dedicated his talents as a signal man in the Navy for four years. He was one of the few survivors when his ship, "Maiden Creek," full of ammunition, was torpedoed in the Mediterranean Sea. He was able to tour the world by volunteering on various ships.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For 20 years he was a salesman for Electrical Wholesale supply, one of three to pioneer the company.

Ty is survived by their children, Judy (Dean) Halladay, Chico, California; Gordon (Karen) Glenn, Salt Lake City, UT; Cheryl Glenn, Boise, ID; Paul (Marianna) Glenn, Dubois, WY; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the Ammon LDS 6th Ward, 2945 Selway. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. For questions, please call the family at 524-2213.
