Lucile Whinham (Cook) - Class of 1932

Lucile W. Cook passed away Dec. 25, 1998 at the Sunrise Care Facility in McCall. Services were held Dec. 30, 1998 at Lindquist Funeral Chapel in Ogden, Utah with internment following at Montpelier Cemetery at Montpelier, Idaho.

Lucile was born to James and Rosella Whinham Feb. 18, 1913 in Montpelier. She was 85 at the time of her death. She was the oldest of six children and lived in her early life in Montpelier, later moving to Ogden. She married Alfred N. Cook in the Logan LDS Temple in June of 1932.

They enjoyed working in the appliance sales and service business together. They loved to square dance and ballroom dancing, fishing and memorable trips with friends and family were enjoyed. She was a member of the LDS Church and a life-long member of the Relief Society, working in the church auxiliary organizations. Lucile was widowed in 1980. She loved gardening and canning, crocheting and many other handicrafts. During the next 16 years she enjoyed trips to fish and visit relatives.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. (Dean) Shirley Bastachi, of Nixby, Utah; her brother James (Marilyn) Whinham of Ray, Utah; her daughter Joan Lee of McCall; three grandchildren, Mrs. Diana (Dan) Jones, of Orofino, Idaho, Mrs. Cheryl (Patrick) Knowles, of McCall and Mr. David (Florence) Lee, of Holualoa, Hawaii; 
five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
